Why It’s Okay To Not Go To College

For one thing, you’ll be in good company:

For another thing, as this Forbes article explains, college is just one means to the end of developing and demonstrating your human capital; it is not a one-size-fits-all solution, or a shoo-in for a job, wealth, or happiness.

To put it bluntly, if you are unmotivated, uninspired, and unimaginative, the college experience will not make you happier or cause you to be more successful at whatever you do. On the other hand, if you have passion, initiative, and persistence, the college experience is not the only or even the best way to pursue your aims in life.

All education is self-education. Nobody is going to hold you by the hand and lead you into a comfortable, fulfilling life. If you are willing to take charge of your destiny, you can blaze a trail instead of trying to follow a map.
